Kahikatea 2015 

It is week 7 and we have been learning about wearable arts. For wearable arts I am doing a dragon my speashel fetchers are four wings, four eyes and a lizzed tripe heard.

                                                 

        

                                         Clubs  on Friday ( Week 7 )

                                  On Friday we had clubs, on Thursday Mr Hornby told us what clubs we are in. I put art as my first choice and minecraft  as my second but I wish I could change to scrap booking but we are not allowd. For art  we are doing  origami eyes one week ( last week ) we made the base and the eye it self. Then we made the eye inside it and colour it in after we had colour it in we painted it in a sparkly glue that will make it shiny and smooth. We have to wait till Friday because it has to dry then comes the hard part where we will have to fold it back and forth till we can take it home. When I take it home I hope my cats ( Milo and Mischef )  don't eat it.

It is week 7 and last week i went to orienteering  and it was so fun. On Friday last week and this week i am doing knitting for options and it is really fun.

This week has been great Kahikatea has started clubs with kauri and Kowhai. You get to do lots of different activities like art,scrap booking,gardening and more. I am doing scrap booking it's really fun. A lady named Stacey teaches us all sorts of different things about scrap booking.

 It has been an awesome week 6 and we have been doing zentangles ,narrative writing and wareabale arts. On Friday I am going to orienteering and I have not done it before.

I am having a great week 5 because I am going orienteering on Friday and I haven't done that before.
I wrote a narrative story about a water raft up a river.

dad gave me a PE uniform for Friday. 

Week 6 

This week is week 6 kahikatea is doing so many exiting things like zentangles and wearable arts and narrative stories about so many exiting things. The seniors started clubs  and there so cool

It     is   week   6     and    i    am    going      to     the    orienteering  on     Friday     at        park      in        masterton     at     8:40am    i      hope     it      will       go     good.

   

It is week 6 term 3 in Kahikatea.This week has been really fun.We have started some Zentangles and we had Mrs Marshaal our Principal come into examine how well our class reads.We have done some revision maths and a narrative story about some people white water rafting.I love Kahikatea class and I alredy have some great memory's in class.

Hello everyone and welcome back from a fantastic holidays. In my mind i say term 3 will be awesome because we are doing wearable art and I get to be with Mrs Patterson and Miss Scheyvens and soon it will be Spring Yay bye for now

It is term 3 and I cant for lots of things the one I most can't wait for is werable arts but we arn't doing dress's and hats well we are only doing hats and I am also most excited for sunday 2 of augest because it is my birthday I have 15 people coming what well i have to go bye

this term so far in Kahikatea has been amazing!!! Why? Well i started off really well and i got to see all my amazing friends again.

Also i had the ability to share my reading,writing and math skills.

I can't wait for another also week!

It is now the second week of term 3 and it has been fun with Mrs Paterson and Miss Scheyvens

my favorite part of term 3 which is coming up would be the wearable arts we are doing which i can not wait to design and then model  : -) 

I loved doing the people poems because i wrote one about my friend Leah and She wrote one for me.

It is fun hanging out with all my friends like climbing the trees, making a hut in the tree up the very top of the tree, and more.

I love it how we got new swings because now we get 4 swings so everyone can at least have a turn.

Week two has been great because we are doing wearable arts and I'm  excited also I'm excited about spring because it's warmer than winter and I like riding my horse.

I have had a wonderful two week's because I got two see my friends.And this week it is maori language week we have been singing maori songs like stan walkers song I forgot what it is called.this term I want to get better at my maths.

It is week 11 term 2.It is the last week of term 2.We have had an amazing term,we have learnt lots of new things inside and outside class.Mrs Paterson and Miss Scheyvens are very good teachers.We have learnt decimals and percentages and also area and perimeter.We have learnt about different types of writing and I have really improved because i now have more descriptive language in my writing.

                      Term. 2 

Wow it is nearly the end of term 2. We have done lots of exiting things like Mrs Nicols 25 years of being at Solway Primary School.We had a special assembly for her.The senior kapa haka performed a waita and a haka.The haka was Ko Waiarapa and was lead by Leighton.Some people gave speeches about being at Solway.Mrs Nicol sat on a throne with a crown and reserved gifts.Each class gave her a gift.Kahikatea gave Mrs Nicol a card witch Leah and Takumi gave her. I have had a great term 2 and am looking forward to term 3.

6 more days !

6 more days until i fly to Greece. Im very excited. We are going on 5 planes and wont get to greece until early Tuesday morning nz time. My dad will be sleeping when we finally arrive.

Amazing Kahikatea

Kahikatea is an amazing class I love it so much!

Its week 8 and term 2 at Solway primary and we have learnt so much in just 1 term and 8 weeks.Today we had Miss Scheyvens and guess what its her birthday,today we did some writing about the sun and wrote it on a long strip of felt and we also drew and cut out a sun.I did my sun as an optical  ulison  and it looks very nice and they are all hanging up in kahikatea and WOW they look really amazing we walk through them. Some people have some really great similes hanging up ( oops sorry I didin't mention we did them as similes. I cant walt until tommrow we will be doing some amazing work tommrow and I know it will be fun,Miss Scheyvens will be teaching us.

Last weekend I went to a tramp and skate park in petone for my birthday it was a shame I pulled a muscle  in my back be for we left so I couldint bounce as much at the tramp park at the tramp park there was a doge ball part and a foam pit also a hope and a bouncing part I was taking photos and I was bouncing it was fun.

Wow it's week 7 term 2  and the time has flown.Mrs Paterson has started teaching us about decimals and percentages we know heaps already.😃The cross country was last week I didn't do it because 2 years ago I broke my foot and they casted it wrong so it's still painful and may still be broken they said it would be perfect in 1-2 years BUT NO it's not so I'm going back to hospital soon.
Izzy won the year 6 race.😄😃😀We have the book fair at school I have 5 books and they are all so interesting😄😛

In three weeks I'm going to England WOO HOO!
I'm going to England in six days and were leaving at ten thirty in the morning.
We're going to Lego-Land,butterfly land, long leat (it's a safari park) and a lot of other really cool places I'm going to be putting posts of me in England,where we are and who were with.
I'm going for six weeks including flights and spending a few nights in hotels.
When I get back I'll have tons to talk about with my class and friends!
It will be really fun and I can't wait to get back.

Hello and welcome back to the first week of school. We have done some writing about are awesmoe holiday my was about watching  Fast and furious 7 any way we have been doing some maths and it was easy for me but other people says its hard. i am just good at it thats all. WEEK 1 IS ROCKIN

This week has been fabulous hockey because Im in my mums team I hope shes nice to us ha ha not I have funny people in my team as well as Mum this week has been fun as well as last term at home I also got a ping pong table that we play with pretty 24/7 all day everyday well not all day because we have to go to school

WOW!!!!!!!! Its nearly been a week of term 2 we have done so much learning this term.it feels like its been a year of school.i have had so much fun with my friends inside class and outside class.My favourite part of term 2 is going on our blogs there so much fun

In the holidays i got a new kitty its called Ed he is a ginger kitten its a very mean kitten my dad wonted a black fluffy one but too bad for him when dad saw ed he was like we got more dog food for the dogs but Hayley my sister was like no don't it was funny  but wot i liked the most is coming back to school to see mrs Paterson and miss scheyvens :)

WEEK 1 TERM 2

This year so far has been amazing. I am improving very well this term. This term our class have been learning about ANZAC day. Since i cant do ANZAC day because of my religion i did a project on electricity. I love this week!

Week 1 Term 2

WOW!!! this has gone so fast it feels like yesterday was the first day of the year.
I`m improving so much on my maths because I have completed stage six and now i`m in stage 7D.
Its been so exciting and its only week 1 term 2.  

This term has been cool because i am going to year six camp for three nights for days and we have been swimming in the pool when we went into the pool  so we had to get warm by swimming to the end of the pool .

Yesterday and today we went to the real art roadshow and yesterday we got a free pencil and a sketch pad  i like the skull pop .

Today we did some art on a piece of paper and we did fun stuff today and yesterday .


this term is going to be fun.

This term was awesome because I have learnt lots of nolige with miss Pattersons

WEEK 8

                                Week 8 Term 4

THIS WEEK HAS BEEN AWESOME BECAUSE THE REAL ART ROADSHOW PEOPLE CAME ON MONDAY IN A HUGE TRUCK. WE HAVE SEEN SOME AMAZING ASTONISHING ART WORK DONE BY FAMOUS ARTISTS(NOT LEONARDO DIVINCHI).

AFTER THE LOOK AROUND,ALL 30 OF US GOT GIVEN A NEW SKETCHBOOK AND SKETCHING PENCIL FOR FREE!!!

Week 7 was fun because we where doing swimming and I love doing swimming and we did freestyle,backstroke,butterfly and breath stroke. Freestyle is easy for me but breath stroke is hard for me.

Wow  this week has been so busy we went to the Marae and did gloss testing. I love kahikatea next week i am going to be at HOY horse of the year.

Okay now I oficially have to say KAHIKATEA is the best class in the whole entire world.We have so much fun and Mrs Paterson and Miss Scheyvens are the best they are so creative and clever and so kind. 

We have made spotlight stages and masks that look like us.The spotlight stages are all about our lives and roots where we came from and photos of ourselves.

The masks are so cool they are made of salt dough that's flour and salt we all made ours so they would look like ourselves added all of our details and more.

   this week has been fun because we made Spotlights with ms Scheveyns I had baby photos and a photo of me holding a 24 pound Snapper

where up to week 5 already, wow that's gone fast. what I enjoyed about school this week was having a big sausage sizzle, doing this really cool art with Mrs sheyvens  it was called spot light stages they look really cool. This week was awesome!

week we did clay masks with Ms.ske the ingridients are 1 cup of salt and a cup of normal flour  and half a cup of water then mix it and then create what you want when your dough is not sticky !!!

Week four!!!

This week has been awesome with the swim sports and the clay masks.

The clay masks was fun because we made clay models of our faces it was AWESOME!!!

The swim sports was also cool because we had a lot of races,I got third on 2 length freestyle, 

Second on 2 length backstroke,second on relays and tied second with a lot of kids on dolphin dive.

It was so much fun.

Well  I am a bit worried  about  my  mums  cat because he has been doing  some  really  weird  stuff. Like  climbing  the clothesline , climbing  the  ladder  and playing in  plastic bags . He is a real  dumbo. He must of  hit his head  before  we got him . Once  he  got  a  plastic bag wrapped  around  his leg he went bilistic.

yay!!!! week 3 in my new class with my fabulous teacher Mrs Patterson,what i have enjoyed so far is swimming because i love to lear new fantastic skills my best skill is long legs long arms.Also i have made lots of friends in my wonderful class,what i don't like about kahikatea is the colour i think it should be rainbow colours to look fabulous but i also like it the way it is.

Wow week three it still feels like week 1 it is so cool being in room kahikatea I now know my way all over the school.It is fun living in Carterton.Ilove going to Solwayschool . MRS  Paterson is very nice. Althought Iam not that happy about the heat.Cool  plants and trees everywhere. I wish I could make some more friends.

Back at School!!!

Hello my name is Takumi and the first three weeks of school was awesome because we drew are name pastels and they look amazing. about a day after we started school we went swimming in are pool that is about 1 meter deep and some times the water is a bit warm. then we made are awesome place mats that goes on are table. Well that it for now and if you want to check out my blog it is awesome well i think it is I also like halo just saying bye. Just one more thing i cant wait until year 6 camp.

It`s my third week in kahikatea and I'm enjoying it but i can not wait until year 6 camp in week 8 I think all the year sixes can`t wait until year six camp.     

Week 3 already!!

It is now week 3 and I have been enjoying it a lot . Tomorrow is the Solway school triathlon and the swimming sports are coming up and so is YEAR 6 CAMP!!! It's in week 8 ,which is only 5 weeks away.  But sadly today I poked my hand with something ,which I don't know what it was and that's what it has been like so far.

so far I have loved being in kahikatea it has been fun having my job as putting the PE gear away with Josh,Nathaniel and me after the first bell,we wait for for everyone to bring the stuff in then we put all the stuff away and leave to go back to class then we get into work.

This week i loved doing swimming|basic facts|reading|writing the beast thing is my friends are in my class.

School Is Back!!!!

Hi my name is Josh, so far Kahikatea has been the best we've been doing so much work. I've been having a great time so far in Kahikatea and I'm finally with all my old mates. Also we've had 3 new people in one week. So far being a year six has been awesome cause finally I'm a seinier

I have Loved being in kahikatea this year and with Mrs Paterson she is so fun.

I like Playing with my friends in the plantation and making huts which are cool.

We have done writing of the holidays and then published it and put it on the wall.

Last of all we did Art making our names which will then have our picture on the top.
